Soft Ground Improvement Project
Project Information
• Project Name: Wuhan Huashixin’an E-Commerce Logistics Park Soft Ground Improvement Project
• Location: Dongxihu District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province
• Contractor: Guangzhou Sunzo Foundation Engineering Co., Ltd.
• Construction Method: Vacuum preloading drainage consolidation (80 kPa)
• Preloading Duration: Approximately 120 days under full vacuum load

Project Overview
The Huashixin’an National Headquarters E-Commerce Logistics Project is located in Dongxihu District, Wuhan, a region with convenient transportation and outstanding geographical advantages. The overall masterplan includes three large warehouses (A-1, A-2, A-3), one comprehensive office building (A-4), and auxiliary facilities such as guardhouses, ramps, and equipment rooms.
• Total construction area: 116,370.91 square meters
• Breakdown:
• Warehouse A-1: 37,924.05 m²
• Warehouse A-2: 35,776.53 m²
• Warehouse A-3: 35,056.53 m²
• Office Building A-4: 4,048.00 m²
• Supporting structures (platforms, ramps, guardhouses, etc.): 3,565.80 m²
• Total land area: approximately 103,371.22 square meters
Upon completion, the project will become a major e-commerce logistics hub for Central China, providing strategic support for warehousing, sorting, and supply-chain services across the region.
Construction Technology
The project site is underlain by thick soft soil with high water content and low natural bearing capacity. To ensure the stability of large warehouses and the comprehensive building, Sunzo adopted a vacuum preloading drainage consolidation method, applying a vacuum pressure of 80 kPa to effectively reduce post-construction settlement.
Construction procedures included:
- Backfilling the site to the designed elevation
- Installing PVDs (prefabricated vertical drains) and horizontal drainage pipes
- Laying geotextile and sealing membrane, and excavating membrane trenches
- Installing vacuum preloading equipment and initiating vacuum pumping
- Implementing full vacuum preload in zones while continuously monitoring settlement

• Settlement Control Data:
• Calculated natural ground settlement: 681.1–1132.7 mm
• Measured settlement during construction: 476.8–792.9 mm
• Post-construction settlement was significantly reduced and met all design requirements.
Construction Management and Innovation
• Equipment input: Multiple PVD insertion machines, excavators, and full sets of vacuum preloading equipment ensured efficient construction progress.
• Personnel: More than 50 workers formed a specialized on-site operation team.
• Smart construction: Digital and intelligent monitoring systems were used for quality, safety, and progress control.
• Optimized design: Key challenges were analyzed in advance, and construction plans were dynamically adjusted to achieve settlement control and overall quality targets.

Engineering Significance
The construction of the Wuhan Huashixin’an E-Commerce Logistics Park relied heavily on high-standard foundation treatment. Through the vacuum preloading method, Sunzo significantly improved the site’s soft soil conditions. The process not only reduced post-consolidation settlement but also provided safe and reliable foundation support for the large warehouses and the comprehensive office building.
The project achieved the “Four Zero Goals”:
• Zero accidents
• Zero injuries
• Zero pollution
• Zero infection
These results fully demonstrate Sunzo’s technical strength and management excellence in large-scale e-commerce logistics park ground improvement projects.
